The opening day of the Olympic Games in Beijing, we thought it was prime time for a look at the high-tech athletics gear that's being used at the games today that wasn't around four years ago in Athens. The much-publicized LZR Racer Speedo is just the tip of the iceberg. One technology that won't be appearing, however, is Oscar Pistorius' running prosthetics, which at least one person thinks is a good thing, lest Olympic athletes eventually start competing with cyborgs. Another big tech on display at the games is unprecedented broadcasting, the highlights of which we've neatly broken down for you by the numbers.
